Since 2007, Invest Europe (formerly the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) has been using the online platform PEREP_Analytics to collect figures on the Private Equity and Venture Capital activities of European investment companies.

The change in method in 2007 (switching from paper questionnaires to online surveys) resulted in limitations in the comparability of the data with previous years. In addition, some of the designations for individual segments in the statistics have been adjusted.

Invest Europe also corrects the data retrospectively, so that there may be differences when comparing graphics to previous years.
