Data protection declaration regarding the processing of your personal data

The protection of your personal data is particularly important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions. Herewith we inform you in accordance with Art. 13 and 14 GDPR about the processing of your data.

AVCO – Austrian Private Equity and Venture Capital Organisation – represents the interests of the Venture Capital and Private Equity industry in Austria. It was founded in 2001 as an association and is the central contact point for all questions regarding Venture Capital and Private Equity. Together with our members and partners, we are committed to creating optimal framework conditions for an efficient, growing and sustainable capital market in order to strengthen Austria as a location for innovation and business.

In order to achieve these purposes, your personal data, in particular the following, will be processed and stored by us:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Company name
  • Function
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Photos in the context of event participation

In this context, you will receive from us, for example, invitations to events, newsletters, information on cooperation and project opportunities or other information that may be of interest to you and/or your company.

Any permission you have given to process the data or to send newsletters, invitations to events or other information material can be revoked at any time with immediate effect. (Unless the processing is lawful for another reason). The data processing that took place until the revocation retains its legality. In individual cases, data is also transmitted to third parties as part of the processing, such as cooperation partners (e.g. hosting companies) or other AVCO members, for example for the joint organisation and implementation of events within the scope of our association’s purpose and for better networking within AVCO. We take care to ensure that data is only passed on to the smallest extent necessary. In order to fulfill our tasks, we occasionally use contract processors (e.g. printers, IT service providers, marketing companies to send out information). If you provide personal data of a contact person from your company, AVCO assumes that you have the right to pass on this data and that you will indemnify AVCO and hold us harmless.

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the following rights:

Information from AVCO at any time as to whether and which personal data

is stored about you at AVCO:

  • Correction or deletion of your personal data
  • Restrictions of the processing of your personal data and
  • Objection   to the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances or withdrawal of the consent previously given for the processing
  • Requests of data transfer
  • Information on the identity of any third party with whom your data is shared
  • Lodging a complaint with the competent authority, in particular with the data protection authority (www.dsb.gv.at).

Please make these rights known to office@avco.at, stating your full name, address and phone number. Your request will only be processed if your identity can be clearly verified. Therefore, please send us a copy of an official ID with your request. In order to bridge the duration of the general legal action period, this data is stored for 3 years from the date the information was provided.

All other data described here is generally stored for a period of 10 years after the last contact (e.g. participation in events or courses, cooperation in projects, personal visits on site, etc.).

Cookies

Our website uses so-called cookies. These are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. For further information, visit allaboutcookies.org.

We use cookies to make our offer user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

Web analysis

Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. The information generated in this way is transferred to the provider’s server and stored there.

You can prevent this by setting up your browser so that no cookies are saved.

We have concluded a corresponding contract for order data processing with the provider.
